About us

  • Founder

Pat's journey in design began in 1995 as an eager intern at Aero Studios, where he had the privilege of working alongside the renowned Thomas O’Brien on innovative store concepts for the iconic fashion house, Armani. This formative experience ignited his passion for design and set the stage for a remarkable career.

He later joined J. Brice Design in Boston, collaborating with Jeff Orenstein on dynamic hotel and restaurant projects in the vibrant landscape of the United Arab Emirates. In 1999, Pat earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Wentworth Institute of Technology, further solidifying his foundation in design.

Between 1999 and 2003, Pat honed his craft under the guidance of Steven Sclaroff, contributing to a diverse array of projects—from Quicksilver’s flagship location in Times Square to stylish Kate Spade stores, residential designs, and even product lines for Waterworks. His artistic vision also flourished through a collaboration with Tricia Foley on the American Folk Art Furniture line for Bloomingdale's.

In 2004, Pat embraced his passion for the culinary world as Director of Operations at P.J. Clarke’s in New York City. Here, he cultivated a deep understanding of the intersection between design and hospitality, creating spaces that resonate with warmth and community.

In 2012, he took his expertise global with Le Pain Quotidien, where he designed and built over 75 restaurants across more than 15 countries. After six transformative years as Vice President of Brand Culture and Development, Pat embarked on a new adventure by establishing Hopewell Design Shop.

Today, Pat blends artistry with a keen business acumen, crafting spaces that not only reflect aesthetic beauty but also foster connection and inspire those who inhabit them.
